Wrist Centered Circular Movement

The golf swing represents a means of creating and transferring energy through movement. The ability to transfer that energy to the club is the most important factor in how fast and efficiently one swings the club. As seen above, the wrists play a major role in the swing and need to ensure the club is swung around the body in a pendulum movement. As the wrists unhinge near the bottom of the swing, the kinetic energy is transferred to the club. Without the wrist hinge most of the energy stays in the arms and shoulders and results in a loss of power. In order for the hinge to happen the wrists need to rotate freely which requires the correct grip where the golfer doesn’t hold the club too tightly.

Unhinging the wrists at the optimum swing angle means that as much energy as possible is transferred to the club just before it makes contact with the ball.
