PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
Golf is a complicated sport and requires a certain amount of practice to be able to get to a decent level and perform well on the real golf course.  Many beginners end up extremely frustrated and lose interest rather quickly.  They often want to rush to play on the course and are reluctant to put the necessary time in on the practice range before attempting to play on the real course.

One of the most important factors in putting is alignment.  If you’re confident your ball and clubface are lined up with the read you’ve chosen, it will free up your stroke.  This leads to the next important factor in putting which is consistently making the impact with the center of the ball.

If you want to roll your ball on the correct line you need to aim your putter face where you want the ball to start.  To do this it helps to align your eyes square to the putter face and the starting line.

Finding The Sweet Spot

As with any golf club, a putter has a sweet spot. It’s an area in the center of the club where the ball will feel its best when hit from there. Hitting the ball in the center of the putter face is extremely important, as the ball will come off the putter the same straight way every time. This makes it a lot easier to judge the distance and consistently make accurate putts. By hitting the ball off-center of the putting face, it becomes impossible to judge how the ball will react and the distance it will travel.
